The Nevada Real Estate Division (NRED) defines live instruction as teaching that happens either in person, with the instructor and students in the same room, or online through platforms like Zoom. These online tools allow real-time interaction, so you can see, hear, and talk to each other, even if you're not in the same place. Sometimes, a mix of both in-person and online methods is used to teach live classes. When it comes to online continuing education (CE) for license renewal, NRED allows up to 18 hours of “self-paced” online courses. These can include required topics like Ethics, Law, Contracts, Agency, and Risk Reduction, along with General CE to complete the 36 hours needed. There are also courses for Special Permits, like Property Management and Business Broker training, as well as specific training for brokers that can also be taken as internet CE courses. But remember, you can only complete a maximum of 18 hours of internet CE, so it’s important to keep strict record of your completed courses and learning method.
